Odd Old Tree Gnarl
This is an unusually large gnarl on a tree.
I photographed it at a place called ‘Historic Spanish Point’.
It’s located in Osprey, a small town 30 minutes south of Sarasota, Florida.
I was fascinated by the way the tree had a sprig of small leaves beginning to grow in this very big gnarl.

Was it the tree sending out a shoot or some other plant making a home there? 🙂

You could be right, Gilly. It may have been another plant deciding to reside there. The tree at the top was completely baron. I wondered if the tree was dying.

It was a photo I took many months ago. Now, I look at my photos with a different eye.
Interesting what a challenge can do. 😊
You have a wonderful week, as well.

A fascinating gnarl, Issy. I enjoyed searching out the faces on it, and even found a bunny rabbit. 🙂

It was fascinating to me too. I was so mesmerized by it that I forgot to take a photo of the whole tree.
I photographed a stump this past weekend that has a heart in it. 😊
