Danger – Hot Molten Glass
Small particles of glass are rolled onto a hot metal rod to create a thick liquified ball of glass.
The metal rod is first placed in this very hot oven called the glory hole.
My friend, Richie Fizer, gave a demonstration of his glass blowing technique
for a group one evening. The bright heated glass lit up the night.
Tremendous concentration is needed to create these wonderful masterpieces.
And, to keep safe from the DANGER of burning.
The beginning of a large glass plate shaped bowl.
DANGER this gets very hot – it’s the cooling bucket for glass that’s no longer needed.
A wine goblet in it’s final stages.
The finished goblet is ready for removal from the rod, cooling and purchase.
Artists who blow glass are subject to danger every time they begin a new project. It’s an art that requires great skill and talent.
Richie Fizer is an award winning artists. The slieshow above showcases some of his other works of art. If you like to purchase
or see more of his artwork go to Fcaebook and look up: Fizer Fizer – or – Richie Fizer. You’ll be glad you did.
Hope you enjoyed seeing the glass blowing process.

Great choice for the challenge. I once saw glass being hand-blown in a factory and found it a surprisingly scary (and hot) environment.
