Abandoned Beach Sandals 2022©Isadora DeLaVega
I found these abandoned sandals as I left the beach one day. Someone knew that as September approaches, we’re leaving behind summer, and the new fall season will soon begin. The lazy, hazy days of dipping our toes in the ocean after covering them with gritty sand will become fond memories.
Throwaway Society 2022
Perhaps, beach days won’t be on the calendar of the people who left behind their beach chair and fun noodle float.
Coconut Stand 2022©Isadora DeLaVega
A machete stabs a coconut for the sweet coconut juice hidden inside. We snacked on plantain fries and ice-cold beers as we watched this man with a machete chopping coconuts to sell to a fellow tourist. It was interesting the way he freely wielded that machete around.
Beach Art 2022©Isadora DeLaVega
While walking the beach, you can come across more things than shells.
Gumbi Stick Art 2022©Isadora DeLaVega
People decided to create fun artwork with toys, rocks, and seashells.
Shell Collection 2022©Isadora DeLaVega
Seashells are abundant at the beach in the early morning hours. These are a few shells I’ve collected over several years. None of them are unique, just playing with seashell collecting.
Summer Sunset 2022©Isadora DeLaVega
And, when day is done … a glowing summer sunset can be a favorite find on that particular evening. But, the next one tomorrow will be a favorite find too.

Terrific choice for the week Izzy, and I loved both your images and the opening quote. So very true! We do love our summers don’t we? If they lasted all year would be appreciate them as much? I think not!

I’m late … I’m late … let’s call it fashionably late ~~~ : – )
I’m with you, at times, I don’t appreciate the hot summer
days year round. My daughter is encouraging me to move to SC near her.
As I get older, it sounds tempting except for the moving things part. LOL
Thanks Tina for always popping in with your lovely comments.
I don’t seem to be able to catch up. Sorry about the lateness.

🙂 Great finds. Fantastic photos of the (temporarily?) abandoned slippers, and the tray with the shell collection.

I was at the beach until sunset, but no flip flop owners showed up.
They made a great photo though. Thanks for visiting and commenting.

Shells don’t need to be unique to be beautiful. Especially in combination with each other.

I agree. Shells are all unique as we are.
Now, when I go shell seeking I bring along something to pick them up with.
It helps the knees. LOL

I always do as well.

Did you take any of those throwaway items home with you in addition to the shells?

Actually, there was food and soda in there that had created a bunch of flies all over everything.
Sadly, the throw–away society won this one. Thanks 😍

Great selections, great detritus of civilization. Aliens stopping by long after mankind has gone will never accurately reconstruct who we were. Too bad we didn’t know either!

Sadly, the throw-away society seems to creep in now and then.
Lots of tourists visit this beach. They purchase beach things then
leave and throw them away. Thanks, John. I’m a bit late but I sis get here. LOL

We’re beginning to see a drop in humidity here in Florida,
but the cold weather is far, far away. Thanks …
