The colorful red, pink white and green blotches are lichens. These strange life forms consist of a fungus fused with algae and / or cyanobacteria.

Lichens…wow! for a moment it looks like a peppermint bark I see during the holidays. Beautiful!

Yes, IT, lichens … amazing right? I just loved the color and was shooting that. Nature can do some really outstanding things. Come back and find the frog which is illusively hiding. I had a hard time finding it until commenters pointed it out to me …. and … I shot the photo. hahaha

Great detail Isadora, it wasn’t until my second look that I saw the frog.

You know< Jeff. I never saw the frog even when I was shooting the photo. It wasn't until you and Mithriluna pointed it out to me that I noticed it. I guess I got lost in the details of the lichen. hahaha Little critter pilled a good joke on me.
