September #One Four Challenge – Week 4 – Gardenia

Opalescent Gardenia 2015©photography by Isadora DeLaVega

In this 4th week of this challenge, I took the original photo :

I cropped the gardenia closer to have in fill the entire frame

and to create a macro effect.

I highlighted the gardenia to draw the eye to the center.

I sharpened the image by 15%.

I added clarity by 20%.

I tried the HDR for effect by making the radius 50% and the intensity 200%.

The final effect is Plumbe with a 40% fade.

I signed it and posted.

Enjoy …

Isadora

    • I thought the sepia edit created a very soft feel to the gardenia, as well. I have to agree with you. The softness of the gardenia was lost in this weeks edit. I wanted it to look more like a painting but it doesn’t. I think I played around with it too much. I like that though. It shows a learning process. Thank you for visiting and leaving your very constructive comment. I appreciate it.

    • There were several effects I did to create the moire effect. I think the original had a bit of glitter
because the photo was taken right after a rainfall. The petals had moisture on them.
Try the methoed I described and see if it works. Good Luck !!!!

    • OOpppsss …. my 1st poll and I mess it up. The macro is on the slide show. Opalescent is the macro.
I may fix it when I get back from the movies. My friend and I are going to see Grandma; her choice. It didn’t sound that good. BUT, one never knows. LOL
I like the original the best. I think the b&w is a bit harsh for such a delicate flower. I agree with your. Thanks, Gilly.
