Playing with Lines
Elephant Heart is by Dutch Artist Hans Van de Bovenkamp
The sculpture is 6’ high X 8’ wide X 3.9’ deep. It is stainless steel.
It must have been quite an achievement to place the sculpture here in this park. An incredible example of lines and curves that converge to become a massive sculpture with a name expressing its’ massive size.

Weekly Photo Challenge – Lines
to join in click here
This week, Cheri Lucas Rowlands, asks us to share a photo with a composition dominated by lines — hard or soft, straight or curvy, vertical or horizontal, or made in nature or as part of a cityscape. We look forward to seeing your interpretations!
Do you mean 6 metres high? It has everything I like in a sculpture 🙂

I like this sculpture too, Gilly. There were about 10 on display for about 6 months. It’s a lovely park to stroll. I kept coming back to this one. It was fascinating up close. 😎

This was part of an installation of several artworks sponsored by the Sarasota Alliance of the arts.
It’s in the Marina Jacks park in Sarasota, Florida.
Hope this helps jar your memory.

Thanks! Yeah, I don’t recall being in Sarasota, so perhaps I’ve just seen something similar 🙂

Thank you, Sylvia. The aluminum sculpture is huge. I loved the way the palm tree
showed up in the center. I never noticed them because I was focused on the artwork.
